Find the G spot: The top sex positions that guarantee an orgasm

Last Updated August 16th, 2019

Does it really exist?

It is also referred to as the Grafenberg spot, which was named after the gynecologist Dr. Ernst Grafenberg.  Anatomically, the woman’s paraurethral gland contains a bean-shaped, spongy tissue that is commonly called the G-spot.  It is just the size of a quarter and is structurally rougher as compared to its surrounding areas.  It is mainly composed of the erectile tissue and generally swells up when the woman is aroused.  The approximate location is around one to three inches up the anterior vaginal wall, which is between the vaginal opening of the urethra.  There has been a long debate as to whether the G-spot actually exists as a separate organ.  It is believed that stimulating this area can make a woman achieve orgasm.

What is an orgasm?

Orgasms can be defined in two ways.  Medically, it is defined as the physiological changes to the body whereas psychologists consider it to be related to the emotional and cognitive changes.  As a matter of fact, there is no clear cut definition for an orgasm.

Facts on orgasms

  • Orgasms can occur even without sexual stimulation.
  • Both genders can experience problems related to orgasm.
  • It has been estimated that one in three men suffer from ejaculation problems.
  • Transgender people can experience orgasm after gender reassignment surgery.

Types of orgasm

There may be no actual definition for an orgasm, but there sure are different types of orgasm present.  Betty Dodson, who is a sex educator has formulated nine different types of orgasm and these include:

Blended orgasms

This is a combination or blends of various orgasmic experiences.

Multiple orgasms

Multiple orgasms are unlike the singular one that can occur over a short period of time.

Pressure orgasms

These include indirect stimulation of applied pressure, which is common in children.

Relaxation orgasms

It is an orgasm that is achieved during sexual stimulation from deep relaxation.

Tension orgasms

This is the most common type of orgasm, which is achieved from direct stimulation when the body and muscles are tense.

Fantasy orgasms

An orgasm that is achieved from mental stimulation.

G-spot orgasms

This is an orgasm that is achieved during penetrative intercourse from the stimulation of the G-spot.

How is an orgasm caused?

It is considered to be a sexual experience following the continual stimulation of certain erogenous areas such as the genitals, nipples, perineum, as well as the anus.  Two main physiological factors are considered to be responsible for this and include:

Vasocongestion

During this phenomenon, blood fills up the tissues of an organ, which in turn increases the size of these tissues.

Myotonia

This includes both voluntary and involuntary flexing and contracting of muscles.

It has been reported that people also experience orgasmic sensations initially when prescribed with epileptic medicine.  It has also been noted that people who are paralyzed from the waist down can experience orgasms, which clearly indicates that it is the central nervous system that is responsible for this process and does not depend upon any particular organ.

Different types of orgasm models

Experts have formulated various orgasm models that depend on physiological changes that have been identified in the majority of subjects.  It has to be noted that this may vary from person to person.  The following models are based on all the forms of sexual response and are not limited to anything in particular.

Master and Johnson’s Four-Phase Model

This model was formulated by Master and Johnson and includes four stages.  According to this model, it begins with excitement, then plateau, followed by the orgasm, and then finally the resolution.

Kaplan’s Three-Stage Model

This model is considered to be different from others as it deals with desire as the initial stage.  Many do not consider the phase of desire because not all sexual activity is preceded by desire.  The three stages of this model initially begin with desire, followed by excitement, and finally the pleasure.

Benefits of orgasm for women

It is common that many are aware of what an orgasm is, but hardly know the benefits associated with it.  It is a general view of people in many societies that orgasms are “secured at the cost of vigor and wellbeing.”  Anyone who has experienced an orgasm would know how relaxing you would feel after you have experienced it.  This is related to the hormone that is secreted during an orgasm called oxytocin.  It is believed that the secretion of endorphins and oxytocin work as relaxants that provide this feeling after an orgasm.  Some of the benefits associated with orgasms include:

  • Improves the blood circulation in the pelvic cavity, which is helpful to deliver nutrients, regulate the menstrual cycle, as well as grow healthy tissues.
  • Energizes the hypothalamus gland, which in turn increases fertility and appetite. It regulates pituitary gland, as well as the reproductive hormones.
  • Helps in detoxification of the body by providing the overall lymphatic massage.
  • Maintains the estrogen levels to prevent osteoporosis and heart disease.
  • It boosts endorphin levels and provides relaxation to the body.
  • Increases DHEA levels in the body that is essential for brain function.
  • Studies have claimed that making love thrice a week without much stress can make you look much younger.
  • Improves your infection-fighting abilities.
  • It can even cure migraines.

Scientific evidence of G-Spot

There has been a long debate as to whether the G-spot actually exists.  Many people do not believe in it since only 30% of women experience orgasms with intercourse.  A study was conducted by Dr. Adam Ostrzenski by dissecting an 83-year-old cadaver.  It was determined that there existed a well-delineated sac structure that was located on the perineal membrane.  It was located at 16.5 mm from the upper part of the urethral meatus and created a 35-degree angle with the lateral border of the urethra.  It was determined that the G-spot had dimensions of 8.1 x 3.6 x 1.5 mm denoting the length, width, and height.  Dr. Ostrzenski removed the entire structure and discovered that it stretched from 8.1 to 33 mm.

How to find G-spot?

It is not completely guaranteed that all women would experience pleasure when the G-spot is stimulated.  If your partner does, then finding the right spot is important.  It is around 2 to 3 inches inside the vagina on the upper part of the vaginal wall.  Allow your partner to lie on her back facing up.  Insert a finger into the vagina with the palm facing upward.  Move the finger into about 2 to 3 inches and next try to touch the upper part of the vaginal wall.  When you feel a rough area that is about the size of a coin, you have found the spot.  Your partner would feel aroused when you start stimulating this area, which would confirm that you found the right spot.

Foods that help you get in the mood

Ginseng

It increases the sexual desire of a person by increasing testosterone levels in men and progesterone levels in women.  It can be consumed by preparing a tea which is then consumed later when it is cool.

Maca

It regulates hormones that help improve sexual desire.  It can also treat erectile dysfunction in men and treats hormonal imbalance in women.

Chocolate

It promotes the secretion of serotonin in the brain, which is a mood stabilizer.  Dark chocolate, in particular, is effective in promoting sexual desire.

Ginkgo Biloba

It aids in the production of serotonin in the brain, which improves sexual desire.  The calming effect of serotonin refreshes the brain and promotes sexual desires.

Oysters

A rare amino acid called dopamine is present in oysters.  This amino acid increases brain function and promotes sexual desire.  Raw oysters, in particular, are beneficial in increasing sexual desire.

Pistachio nuts

These nuts increase blood flow and help in the process of vasocongestion.  This process is considered to be one of the factors necessary to cause an orgasm.

Fenugreek

It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and helps to increase libido.  It promotes the production of sex hormones namely testosterone and estrogen that is essential for sexual desire.

Sex positions to stimulate the G-spot

The stimulation of G spot can be achieved by various sex positions.  Many positions can stimulate this area, but choosing a position that gives you control on movements is considered to be suitable.  These positions may vary from person to person, so you need to figure out the best which suits you.  Let us discuss these three positions, which are considered to be suitable to stimulate the G-spot.

Cowgirl

This position provides complete control over various factors such as the depth, angle, as well as the rhythm.  This allows you to focus on stimulating the spot better.  During this position, your partner will lie on the back and you will be on top.  Moving back and forth allows you and your partner to concentrate on stimulating the area better.  You can mix up with the speeds depending on the requirement.

Doggy style

This is again considered to be very suitable to stimulate the desired area by deeper penetration and having the desired angle.  It allows you to vary the angle and hit the G-spot more often.  Penetrating from the back allows you to control the depth as well as change the angle according to the requirement.

Closed missionary position

It is a variation of the classic missionary position.  This provides better stimulation without deep penetration.  Since the legs are together, the penetration is usually not deep but provides a tighter feeling.  This increases the friction during penetration providing a more intense stimulation, which helps in achieving a strong orgasm.

Takeaway

The many controversies surrounding the presence of G-spot in a woman may be confusing, but in recent years, it has been scientifically proven that it exists.

Now that we know it exists, do all women experience pleasure stimulating it is the next question.  It has been reported that not all women may experience an orgasm by stimulating it and only 30% of women actually get aroused by stimulating this region.  It should be understood that not all that is shown in the movies are true and sexual pleasure is never achieved instantaneously.

When it comes to a woman achieving an orgasm, it needs some substantial time and effort.  If you want to experience the best sexual pleasure, do not be afraid to experiment.  You will need to give that extra time in foreplay by stimulating the spot.  At the end of the day, you need to satisfy both your partner as well as yourself.  Your mission is half accomplished the moment you satisfy your partner and at the end, you would feel that your hard work has paid off.

TL;DR?
